It is with great pleasure, that the Australian Organising Committee invite delegates from around the world to join us in Brisbane to attend the WCTE 2025.
Our host organisation for the conference is The University of Queensland, home of the Australian Research Council Industrial Transformation Research Hub to Advance Timber for Australia’s Future Built Environment (ARC Advance Timber Hub).
The use of timber in building construction is growing at a rapid pace in Australia and the government continues to provide incentives for the utilisation of engineered timber products in construction, including a commitment of $100 million for the creation of a national institute for Forest Products Innovation, designed to position the Australian Timber Industry to make huge contributions to Australia’s carbon positive bio-future.
Australia is bringing innovative timber solutions to the tall buildings market, developing uniquely performance based design solutions to make timber viable for building of height and complexity equal to that of any other country in the world.
There is a rise in engineering and architectural timber engineering as a preferred solution for manyprojects, providing further relevance and importance to the research carried out by the timber design and construction community.
A number of exemplar buildings and structures are located within Brisbane, providing an ideal opportunity for site visits as part of WCTE 2025; whilst some stunning examples of modern timber buildings can also be seen in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
Our host city of Brisbane, is the capital of the State of Queensland; Australia’s favourite tourist region and host of the 2032 Olympic Games. It is an ideal location for both the WCTE conference and extending your trip to visit some of the natural wonders of this part of Australia.
WCTE 2025 is supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland and features on the It’s Live! in Queensland events calendar.
