About
Dr Guido Carim Junior is a safety and human experience expert with a unique background built upon a range of experiences, including safety investigator, human factors advisor, safety data analyst, safety ethnographer, airline pilot, manager, researcher, educator, speaker, mentor, and consultant. He is currently the Head of Department at Griffith Aviation, Griffith University, where he leads a high-performing team of academics responsible for more than 600 students across different degrees, as well as a team of highly motivated professionals and aspiring researchers. He is affiliated with the Griffith Centre for Social and Cultural Research and the Institute of Integrated and Intelligent Systems, Griffith University, where conducts research in the enhancement of safety management systems through new approaches to safety science, the development of technological tools to enhance front line operator’s performance and restructuring vocational training to enhance learning outcomes. Dr Guido has published 48 journal and conference articles and book chapters and has delivered/participated in more than 15 interviews, keynote speeches and webinars since 2020, both domestically and internationally. His h-index is 8 (Google Scholar), with a total of 328 citations. In the past four years, he has been awarded research funds from industry, government agencies, and the university over $266k in funding. He has successfully completed 12 research projects and supervised two HDR candidates and eight master’s students to completion.
